Make Men a Priority – make it a minimum goal to have 20% of your CM volunteers to be men. The more men you have involved the more men will be willing to be involved.
Take Baby Steps – your initial ask can be for a short term project or event. Ask with a definitive length of service in mind. You will be much more likely to get a positive response.

Notice Talents and Tie Them to Tasks – Men our predominately goal oriented. Most men love projects. Invited them to build or complete a specific project. A successful “first step” can lead to more involvement.
Ask Men Individually – be sure to extend individual invitations with specific roles in mind.
Encourage Men to Invite other Men – an invitation from a buddy or teammate can go a long way.
Men will be Men – create opportunities for men to interact socially with other men.

Be Well Organized – men are impressed by job descriptions, mission statements, lists of goals, flowcharts, etc. Create the perception that the organization is followed!
Order and Cleanliness – Men may not get involved with decorating rooms, however they do like the environment to be organized. Many will base their decision to volunteer on how they feel about the learning environment.
Provide Feedback and Document Results – Men tend to judge their effectiveness by productivity. They want to be involved with Winning Teams. They want to see results. Don’t recruit with needs – Recruit by sharing what’s exciting about being involved in Children’s Ministry.
Men are a critical component of a successful Children’s Ministry. Involving men will give much need balance to Children’s Ministry. Let’s be proactive and intentional about get more men engaged in Children’s Ministry.
